Litesa Wallace is a community leader committed to social and economic justice for working families. Throughout her life and career, she’s worked to protect reproductive freedom, expand access to affordable housing and childcare, and fight for a living wage. She’s an experienced policy-maker who is ready to get things done for Illinois in Washington.
As the first Black woman to represent Illinois’ 67th State House District, she made her mark as a progressive Democrat who can get things done. She championed judicial reforms, passed legislation to address sexual harassment at work, and famously fought to secure better childcare subsidies for Illinois’ families after the state’s program was slashed by Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. Her experience as a single mother and mental health counselor means she knows the experiences of everyday residents of the 17th. As a legislator, she has the skills to get to work in Congress on day one so that we all can thrive.
Electing Litesa Wallace will bring a progressive leader from the Midwest to Congress. We know she is ready to fight for her community and we’re proud to endorse her.
